Summit Institute for Development (SID) is an organization established in 2007 that focuses on health and research, particularly in maternal and child health. SID has been trusted by the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) of the Indonesian Ministry of Health as a partner in developing the digitalization and integration of primary healthcare services in Indonesia.
SID is like a doctor with a secret recipe to make pregnant women and children healthy. The secret ingredient? Data! SID collects data from people's homes and turns it into useful information. Just like a doctor's prescription, but this one is for improving healthcare services. As a result, pregnant women can get better and timely care, all thanks to messages and reminders sent via WhatsApp or the call center from SID. SID has also developed a team-based medical care model for primary healthcare using Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) concentrated in four districts in Indonesia. This initiative also includes the development of monitoring and decision-making through artificial intelligence related to primary care at the local level.
SID, which has been focusing on improving public health, is now fully supported by the Australian government through the KONEKSI program. With a funding of AU$700,000, SID will be better equipped to develop programs that have a direct impact on the community, especially in the field of health. This recognition is a clear testament that SID's efforts to improve people's quality of life have been highly appreciated.
The KONEKSI program, an AI-based project, will be implemented in four districts in Indonesia, namely West Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok, and Garut, utilizing deep learning neural networks. This initiative aims to anticipate and bridge gaps in public health, facilitate technology and knowledge transfer to local authorities and develop more advanced digital health monitoring systems. SID is not only focused on research but also on how research results can positively impact society. SID wants to ensure that everyone has equal access to quality healthcare. SID promotes mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation to produce inclusive, equitable, and impactful research that addresses priority needs. Through this collaboration, SID strives to provide real solutions that strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Australia and improve people's quality of life through science-based innovation.
